About My Work

My Philosophy

I believe that we are always in the process of becoming-better, worse, less, more.  If we make this process a conscious one, we have the ability to drive positive change through every aspect of our lives.  To do this, we need patience, desire, commitment and most of all, help. There is no such thing as a quick fix if what you’re looking for is deep, lasting, change; we can only change and grow at the speed at which the ego and the psyche are able to integrate.

For the past 22 years, I have been a practitioner of relationship-based therapy and healing, which allows for a deep attachment between client and helper. Core issues arise organically through the safety of a relationship that is there to support you in every aspect of your growth. As these issues and feelings arise, I will help you give them names and develop tools and strategies for dealing with them. Suppressed memories will arise as you are ready and strong enough to deal with them. There are techniques from a variety of traditions that I employ to assist you in releasing feelings and memories. I specialize in long term work, with frequency decided upon as we go deeper into your self-exploration.

What to Expect

You will learn to treat yourself kindly; to not give yourself away in relationship with others, most importantly your family; you will discover who you are and who you are NOT; and by asking the question “what do I want?” over and over again, you will change your life.

Why I’m Different

One of the most important things about me is that I have been working hard on myself for my entire adult life.  I know what it is to suffer, and to rise from that suffering into a more alive and vibrant self…over and over and over again!  I believe that our ability to be with another person in their deepest pain and greatest joy is directly proportional to our ability to be in our own.  If I can’t face myself, how could I possibly ask you to do the same? The depth of my life and emotional experience creates the foundation for my work and my life.

When you look for an ally, healer, or therapist, remember this: you will enjoy the journey MUCH more if you really like the person you work with.  Find someone whose company you like to keep, that you laugh with, that you respect and trust.  Meeting yourself in all your hidden places is not easy work, so make it as comfortably uncomfortable as you can!
